The Seventh Plague by James Rollins

In my today's pick on books our best friend; I review the book, The Seventh Plague by James Rollins, who is a #1 New York Times bestselling author.

The book is a perfect blend of historical mystery and scientific intrigue and it tells about an ancient threat that was hidden in the page of the holy book Bible.

The modern world is at a risk of the Seventh Plague in case this threat comes out.

In case the biblical plagues of Egypt really happened, is it possible that it can happen again and that too on a global scale?

Professor Harold McCabe, the leader of a British archaeological expedition vanished in the Sudanese desert two years back. He appeared suddenly, delirious and frantic, stumbling on the sands, but before he could tell his story, he breathed his last.

Discovery of a bizarre corruption at the time of autopsy deepens the mystery of his death. It was revealed that the body of professor started to mummify while he was still alive.

The strange remains are dispatched back to London, at the same time; alarming news also arrived from Egypt. Those who were performing the autopsy on the professor body have fallen ill with an unknown disease, something that is spreading fast beyond the autopsy lab.

A colleague of the professor sensed something worse in coming time and reaches out to the director of Sigma Force and long time friend, Painter Crowe.

The call is an important one as Professor McCabe disappeared in the desert as he searched for evidence of the ten plagues of Moses. A disturbing question arises as the pandemic grows.

Will the world face plagues of the medieval times?

Before director Crow can come to the scene and investigate things, all the evidences are destroyed by a mysterious group of assassins, leaving only death and destruction behind.

As the body of professor is incinerated, the only person to whom Sigma Force can turn to for help is the daughter, Jane McCabe, of the archaeologist.

The book, The Seventh Plague from James Rollins will make for an interesting read for anyone who loves history and science.
