Book Review - Juniper: The Girl Who Was Born Too Soon

Juniper: The Girl Who Was Born Too Soon is the story of a new born child who fights to survive. This is a gorgeous and extraordinary memoir told by the parents of the child, both of whom are award winning journalist.

It has been said that Juniper French came into this world just after four months, a gestation period of 23 weeks. At the time of her birth, she weighed only 1 pound and 4 ounce. The fragile body of the girl child was not more than a Barbie doll.
Her head was as small as a tennis ball and the skin was almost translucent and the flickering heart can be seen through her chest. Juniper was born at the edge of survivability, which raised the question whether she should be saved or let go.
The parents of the girl child, Kelley and Thomas French, both decided to fight for the life of Juniper. This book Juniper: The Girl Who Was Born Too Soon tells the whole journey about the fight of parents to save their daughter.
The authors of the book try to find a difference between what is right and what is possible. They explore the scientific part of saving or not saving a child who is born way too early and the love they have for their daughter.
The relation between a husband and a wife is also highlighted as and when they pass through this tricky phase. The book “Juniper: The Girl Who Was Born Too Soon” tracks the journey of a family that had a fragile beginning to the miraculous survival of their daughter.
